Introduction

Peter's Heart Chapel was built by the Franciscan Order of the Catholic Church in 1933. It is located by the sea, next to an ancient pier, and the remains of stone steps leading up to the shore are also nearby. These precious historical relics are surrounded by iron fences to preserve them. Inside the church, there is a huge rock known as the "Table of Christ," where Jesus is said to have had a meal with his disciples. This rock is also where Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection and where Peter was designated as the future leader of the church. The Catholic Church later recognized Peter as the first pope, and the church was named the St. Peter's Chapel. The Roman Catholic Church also calls this church the Church of St. Peter in Chains. From the south of the church, visitors can climb the steps carved out of rock to enjoy the beautiful views of the Sea of Galilee.
