Introduction
Bafutang is located on the peak of Mount Bafu. The Bible records that Jesus once preached the "Eight Beatitudes" on Mount Bafu, which include humility, mourning, meekness, hungering for righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, peacemaking, and being persecuted for righteousness' sake. The church was built in 1938 and is octagonal in shape, made of black basalt, with surrounding arches made of white Nazareth stone, symbolizing the eight beatitudes. The church has stained glass windows of eight different colors, with each color representing a specific beatitude. The windows on the bell-shaped dome are engraved with texts related to the eight beatitudes. Standing on the gallery surrounded by stone columns, one can enjoy the beautiful garden landscape and overlook the scenic views of the Sea of Galilee.
