Introduction

Masada is a Jewish holy site and also one of the World Heritage Sites. It is located at the junction of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea Valley, on top of a cliff that reaches a height of 450 meters, descending vertically to the Dead Sea. The mountaintop is flat and diamond-shaped, with a length of approximately 600 meters north to south and a width of approximately 300 meters east to west. It is surrounded by a 1,400-meter-long wall. The natural routes to Masada are relatively narrow and steep, especially the "Snake Path" on the east side. If you climb to the top of Masada in the morning, you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise view from the east side.
