Introduction

Israel Museum, established in 1965, is located in the Givat Ram neighborhood of Jerusalem. It is a place that houses a valuable collection of biblical archaeology, Jewish artifacts, ethnography, fine art, ancient glassware, and sculptures from various continents. Visitors can admire the unique Shrine of the Book, which showcases the Dead Sea Scrolls and other related artifacts discovered in Qumran. Spanning nearly 50,000 square meters, the museum has a total collection of over 500,000 items, with around 7,000 items and artworks available for online viewing. The Dead Sea Scrolls and the model of the Second Temple are particularly impressive.

Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 10:30-17:00, Tuesday 16:00-21:00, Friday and the day before holidays 10:00-14:00, Saturday and holidays 10:00-17:00.

Take bus 14, 66, or 35 from the Central bus station heading towards Malha Mall; you can also take bus 7 or 9 (heading towards the city center) from the Hebrew University's Givat Ram campus to get there.
