Introduction

Shikmona Gate, also known as the Nablus Gate, is located on the northern side of the Old City of Jerusalem, adjacent to the Arab market. The original Shikmona Gate was built during the Second Temple period, and the existing gate was constructed by the Ottoman Empire's Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in 1542. This gate has stood for centuries, becoming an important symbol of Jerusalem's history and culture.
