Introduction
Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the world, located in Jerusalem. It stands 54 meters tall with a diameter of 24 meters and has an octagonal shape. Since its construction in the 7th century, the mosque has undergone renovations and is now covered by a golden dome, serving as a focal point for Muslims' faith. Priests can worship and take their oaths here. In 1994, King Hussein of Jordan financed the covering of the mosque with 176 pounds of 24K gold leaf. The rock inside the mosque is believed to be the spot where Muhammad ascended to heaven, while Jewish and Christian traditions consider it as the location of Temple Mount. The area beneath the rock, known as the Well of Souls, is believed to be the center of the world. The interior of the mosque is grand and ornate, adorned with marble and colorful ceramic tiles on the dome's inner walls. The walls are decorated with Arabic patterns and Quranic verses.
