Introduction

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, also known as the "Resurrection Church", is considered by the Eastern Orthodox to be the end point of the Via Dolorosa. This church is regarded by many Christians as the place where Jesus Christ was crucified and where the Holy Sepulchre is located, namely the stone tomb at the entrance of the church. However, the tomb in the Holy Sepulchre should be empty as there is a legend that Jesus has risen from the dead. Since the 4th century AD, this church has become a pilgrimage site for Christians.
