Introduction
The Alangah Shah Chirag Mausoleum in Aqatulah, Iran, is one of the holy sites of Shia Islam. It is the burial place of the two sons of Imam Kadhim, Ahmad and Mohammad. Originally a simple tomb, it gained its nickname "The Light of the King" when light was discovered emanating from a cave, believed to be Ahmad's resting place. Starting from the 12th century, successive rulers expanded the mausoleum, turning it into a sacred burial ground and one of the most important religious sites for Shia Islam in Iran. Although slightly smaller in scale and artistic value compared to the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad, the mausoleum boasts a spacious courtyard and unique architectural style. The mausoleum's burial chamber is adorned with countless small mirrored surfaces, giving it a radiant glow. Transportation The Holy Shrine is located in the southeast of Shiraishi city center and can be reached on foot or by taxi.
