Introduction

The Imam Mosque, originally named Shah Mosque, was built in the early 16th century. After the revolution, it was renamed as Imam Mosque. The main attractions are its dome, muqarnas and intricate symmetrical geometric patterns on the walls. Interestingly, the Imam Mosque has two main entrances that are not aligned, with the first entrance facing the square and the second entrance facing Mecca.
