Introduction

The Grand Bazaar in Tehran, with a Persian pronunciation of Bazar-e Bozorg-e Tehran, is one of the oldest and largest bazaars in the Middle East. This huge market is complex and has multiple entrances, with shopping lanes that stretch for 10 kilometers in total. Visitors should be aware that the bazaar is divided into different areas for spices, carpets, copperware, electronics, clothing, etc. It is important to have a clear understanding of the areas before shopping to avoid getting lost. Inside the bazaar, it is crowded with people and shopkeepers loudly promoting various goods, from Iranian saffron to cheap Chinese tableware, and even high-end appliances. Most shopkeepers are very friendly and often invite foreigners to visit their shops. Even if you don't buy anything, you may be invited to the shopkeeper's home to taste delicious Iranian tea and engage in interesting conversations. The bazaar is a great place to get a glimpse into the daily life of Iranians and is full of vitality and color.
