Introduction

Wat Saen Fang is located next to Thapae Road, but the entrance is actually at a small iron gate next to a shop, which requires keen eyes to find. Upon entering the iron gate, visitors will walk along a small alley about 50 meters long to reach the temple gate, guarded by two Nagas painted on the walls. The white tall pagoda inside the temple is beautifully decorated, with golden sun umbrellas, small bells, and golden small pagodas, making it look lively under the sunlight. The roofs of the main hall and the monks' quarters are newly renovated with red and green tiles, vibrant in color. The temple is very peaceful in the afternoon. According to legend, Wat Saen Fang was built by King Saen Foo to hide his wealth. The name "Saen" means wealth, while "Fang" means bury, which is the reason behind the temple's name, although there was no real silver to be hidden in the temple.
