Introduction
Wat Guet Temple was built in 1613 and houses the ashes of the rulers of Chiang Mai during the Burmese rule from 1578 to 1607. The temple has several pagodas of different sizes, each adorned with colorful ceramic tiles, making them uniquely beautiful. According to legend, during the Burmese invasion of Chiang Mai, the local army used bamboo, wood, and cloth to create fake pagodas that were intricately painted. The Burmese army mistook these fake pagodas for real ones and fulfilled their promise to withdraw. Subsequently, the people of Chiang Mai worked together to build a genuine pagoda, which has five tiers resembling a watermelon, and named it Wat Guet Temple. Opening hours 06:00-18:00
