Introduction

The temple blends Lanna and Burmese architectural styles. The eastern prayer hall and monks' quarters follow the Lanna style, while the western pagoda, library, and square monks' quarters are influenced by the Burmese style. The Lanna-style monks' quarters were built in 1865 and underwent renovations in 1957, featuring bright and clear modern murals. The Burmese pagoda is adorned with intricate stucco reliefs and surrounded by Singha (mythical Burmese lion guardians). The teakwood-roofed library is exquisitely decorated and currently serves as a dormitory. The western monks' quarters are adorned with lively relief decorations and houses a large Burmese-style Buddha statue. This temple was originally built in the 19th century by a teakwood merchant.
