Introduction

There is a beautiful park on the mountain outside of Chiang Mai. It covers an area of about 200 acres and is about a one-hour drive from the old city. The park is home to around 40 elephants, over 70 stray dogs, as well as wild animals such as buffaloes and goats, making it like a large animal park. Volunteers can apply to work for two hours each morning and afternoon, such as cleaning the elephants' food like watermelons and pumpkins and packing them. At 11 am, volunteers will feed the elephants. Quickly, they establish a deep connection and intimate relationship with the animals. The volunteer program lasts for one week and costs 12,000 Thai baht.
