Introduction

A sanctuary on top of a 1667-meter-high mountain, with a panoramic view from Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. The temple was chosen by an elephant centuries ago and still houses the relics of Buddha, making it a holy site for believers worldwide. To reach the temple, one must climb 300 steps or take a cable car. From the viewpoint, you can see Chiang Mai city, the airport, and attractions like Wat Chedi Luang in the southeast. The temple's architecture includes a 7-meter-tall chedi and a gallery with 46 Buddha statues and murals depicting the legends of Sumana Tara and the 10th reincarnation of Buddha. On the way to the temple, you'll find many bells and gongs that believers can ring for blessings. Offering lotus flowers is also an important ritual, with red lotus representing good fortune and white lotus bringing added luck.
