Introduction
Here is a wooden pillar, one of the protectors of Bangkok city called Lak Meuang, and also the foundation pillar laid by King Rama I when he built the city. Now it stands in the southeast corner of Sanam Luang. During festivals, many people come here to pray for peace, and this wooden pillar has become one of their beliefs.
