Introduction
Thammasat University, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the historical and cultural center of Bangkok, is the second oldest university in Thailand. In 1932, after the Thai democratic revolution, politician Pridi discovered that there was only one conservative royal university, Chulalongkorn University, in Thailand. Therefore, he established an art university in 1933, which was later approved to become an "open university" in the fields of law and political science in 1934. In 1952, the university officially became Thammasat University, and in 1960, it ended its history as an "open university" and became a regular university with strict admission requirements and entrance exams. The street opposite the Grand Palace leads to Thammasat University, and its main building, the President's Office Building, is a pointed-roof structure that serves as the iconic building of the university, facing the Chao Phraya River. Transportation Here is close to the Grand Palace, and Sanam Luang.
