Introduction

The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem is an important Christian site, with the legend that Jesus was born here. The church is considered one of the oldest Christian churches, managed jointly by the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian churches. In 2012, the church became the first successful world cultural heritage site in Palestine. Inside the church, you will see the mosaic floor from the 4th century during the time of Constantine, as well as the stunning mosaic walls illuminated by ancient chandeliers. Through a small staircase, you can find the manger where Jesus was born. Now, a star with 14 points marks the spot, attracting countless devout pilgrims each year. During the Christmas period, grand celebrations are held here and many celebrities attend.
