Introduction

One of the world's largest golden Buddha statues is enshrined in Bangkok's Golden Buddha Temple. It stands 3 meters tall, weighs 5.5 tons, and is adorned in shimmering gold. Valued at a staggering $4 billion USD, its intricate carving reflects the style of the late Sukhothai period. In addition, Thailand is also home to another world's largest golden Buddha statue, located in Chinatown's Yaowarat Road. This Buddha statue stands nearly 4 meters tall and weighs 5.5 tons, made of 60% pure gold. Interestingly, it was initially covered in plaster until a heavy rainstorm exposed its true nature. This golden Buddha is popular among Chinese tourists and holds great significance in Chinatown.
