Introduction

Inuyama Castle is a historic castle located in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, dating back to the Muromachi period and is also known as the White Imperial Castle. The castle's main keep is one of the twelve surviving original keeps in Japan and is considered one of the "Four National Treasure Castles". The exterior of the castle consists of three floors, and the interior can be explored with four floors and two basement levels. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the top floor. On Thursdays, there are performances by the Aichi Prefecture's Sengoku Princess Team at the castle. Throughout its history, the castle has changed hands multiple times and was eventually taken over by Aichi Prefecture after the Meiji Restoration. However, it suffered significant damage in the Nobi earthquake. Until 2004, the castle was privately owned by the Naruse family, making it the only privately owned castle in Japan.
