Introduction
This area has been at the center of the town since the Edo period. Among them, the middle section of the old street is the most worth visiting. This street has well-preserved traditional Japanese lattice windows and hearths, and the local food shops, coffee shops, and breweries along the street also retain the form of merchant towns. Here, tourists can ride in a traditional Japanese rickshaw and experience the taste of the past. There are flowing water channels under the lattice windows, and "sake forests" made up of cedar leaves hanging in the sake cellars. Large houses and old stores on both sides of the street showcase the traditional life on this land. Tourists can visit traditional candy stores and crafts stores, or enjoy local delicacies such as signature sweet and savory grilled rice cakes and Hida beef skewers. It attracts many visitors from all around. Address Kamii-ino-machi, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture
