Introduction

This is a tranquil beach in Ise City, with layers of stairs facing the sea and a row of ocean-facing guesthouses behind it, offering stunning views. At the eastern end of Futamiura, there are a couple of rocks called "Meoto Iwa" (Husband and Wife Rocks), which are peculiar in shape and also serve as a natural torii gate for the Ise Grand Shrine. In addition, Futamiura Beach is one of Japan's first recognized beaches for swimming, where it is said that Emperor Taisho once practiced swimming.
