Introduction

A shrine built by Date Masamune, it is the most important guardian shrine in Sendai. The shrine's architecture is very magnificent and is designated as a national treasure building. On January 14th each year, the shrine holds a "burning ceremony" to burn the old decorations, praying for a happy and healthy new year.
