Introduction

Edo Wonderland, located in Nikko City, is a themed park that replicates daily life in the Edo period. With its streetscape resembling that of the Edo era, featuring the houses of merchants and samurais, the park offers visitors a chance to step back in time. In addition, visitors can enjoy historical plays, live ninja performances, explore houses with hidden traps, navigate through poetic maze, and other attractions that provide an authentic experience of life during the Edo period. The park is divided into seven sections, including traditional theater performances, experiential areas, entertainment facilities, historic sites, museums, cultural learning centers, and restaurants. Spending a few hours here allows visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese culture before the Meiji era. Furthermore, a geisha procession takes place every day at noon on the main street, showcasing the charm and beauty of the geisha, who were considered the most beautiful women of the Edo period. Although the admission fee is not cheap, Edo Wonderland is a rare destination for visitors who want to explore Japanese history and culture.
