Introduction

Rinno-ji Temple is the founding temple of Nikko-san, built after the passing of Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is often referred to as one of the "Two Shrines and One Temple" along with Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Nikko Futarasan Shrine, and is a representative sacred site of Nikko-san. The temple was inscribed as a World Heritage site in December 1999. When visiting Rinno-ji Temple, visitors should not miss the Sanbutsudo Hall, Shoyoen Garden, and the Treasure House. The Sanbutsudo Hall is the main hall of the temple, while the Shoyoen Garden is an ideal place for meditation and enjoying the scenery. The Treasure House houses 30,000 valuable treasures and is an important place to learn about the history and culture of Nikko-san.

Transportation
Take the Tobu bus towards either Chuzenji Onsen or Yunishigawa Onsen from JR Nikko Station on the Tobu Line. After about 5 minutes, get off at "Kamibashi" bus stop and walk for another 5 minutes to arrive.
