Introduction

Cape Chikyu is a beautiful cape that has been selected as one of the "Hokkaido Nature 100 Selection" and "New Japan Sightseeing 100 Selection". Climbing to the mountaintop, the endless view of the Pacific Ocean is mesmerizing. From the white lighthouse, you can overlook dolphins and whales swimming in the sea, which is truly amazing. If you're lucky, you may witness the sea extending to the horizon, where the coastline seems to reveal the curvature of the Earth. Cape Chikyu is an excellent viewpoint, offering a fresh and natural experience on clear days, and a majestic sight on cloudy days.

Transportation

From Noboribetsu, take a normal train on the JR line to the Motomachi station. After leaving the station, cross the street to a rehabilitation center. There is a Donan Bus stop in front of the entrance. Take the bus to the Earth Cape District and walk uphill for 15 minutes after getting off.
