Introduction
Enoshima is an ancient attraction located on the Shonan coast, designated as a historic site of Kanagawa Prefecture since 1960, and recognized as one of Japan's Top 100 Landscapes since 1927. This island on land is connected to the mainland by a sandbar. The island is home to several popular tourist spots, including shrines, parks, observation decks, and caves. On clear days, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Mount Fuji. To reach Enoshima, you can choose to take a high-speed boat, but if you want to experience the thrill of walking through the woods, you can only do so on foot or by taking the paid Enoshima Elevator. There are three shrines on the island, collectively known as Enoshima Shrine, where visitors can pay their respects to Benten, the goddess of good fortune and happiness.
