Introduction

The Night View of Mount Tengu in Otaru is one of the three major night views in Hokkaido, along with the Night View of Mount Hakodate and the Night View of Mount Moiwa in Sapporo. It offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at night when the city is illuminated and resembles a sparkling galaxy. The famous scene from the movie "Love Letter" was also filmed on Mount Tengu.

Opening hours

9:30am-9:00pm. During winter season, it starts at 9:00am. Cable car may be suspended due to equipment maintenance in April and November.

Transportation

Sapporo Station Bus Terminal, take bus No. 9 to the final destination or take the Otaru Walking Bus (Tengu Yama Line) to the final stop Tengu Yama Ropeway Station (Tengu Yama Ropeway), it takes about 20 minutes for the whole journey.
