Introduction

Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library was donated as a gift by the Beinecke family in 1963, and its building was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Gordon Bunshaft. Located at 121 Wall Street in the center of Yale University's campus in New Haven, it is also known as Beinecke Plaza, and is the largest building specifically designed for the preservation of rare books and manuscripts worldwide.
