Introduction

The origin place of Maneki-neko is a widely-known shrine, which is highly popular among the public, as it is also believed to be a sacred place that helps to bring good fortune.

Walking: From the east side of Senso-ji Temple, head north to Madoguchi-dori, then east after crossing Yoshino-dori. Continue straight for about 50m west of Asakusa High School, and ask around for more precise directions. There are not many direct Toei buses available, one is the "To 42 Koh Line" starting at Tokyo Station. Walk along Yoshino-dori and get off at Imado or Asakusa 7-chome. The other is the "To 42 Otsu Line" starting at Akihabara. Get off at Imado Ichome Station (southbound, towards Nishinippori) or walk further along the riverbank (northbound).
