Introduction
Waseda University is a prestigious private university located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1882 as the Tokyo Senmon Gakko by Shigenobu Okuma. In 1901, it was renamed Waseda University and established its undergraduate and graduate schools. With the education reform in 1949, it became a new-style university. Waseda University, along with Keio University, is known as one of the "Double-Rivals of Private Universities" in Japan and is one of the four major private universities in the country.
