Introduction

Maya Devi Temple is a cultural site that preserves the remains of Maya Devi, the mother of Buddha. Inside the temple, there is a pond where it is said Maya Devi bathed before the birth of Buddha. There are also scattered ruins around, including many brick Buddhist stupas and temples. These relics date back from the 2nd century BC to the 9th century AD.
