Introduction

The Blue Temple of Chiang Mai, originally named as Wat Ban Den, is commonly referred to as the Blue Temple due to its primary blue color scheme. It is located on a small hill in the Muang District of Chiang Mai, facing lush green farmlands and resembling a picturesque landscape. It takes about 70 minutes by car from the Old City, via the 1001 highway, to reach the temple. The Blue Temple is one of the largest temple complexes in Chiang Mai, covering an area of over 80 rai, equivalent to approximately 128,000 square meters. It takes some time and physical effort to explore the entire temple.
