Introduction
The National Museum is a historic museum in Laos, housed in a two-story building that was originally a government office during the French colonial period. Despite its slightly outdated appearance due to lack of maintenance, the museum showcases the geography, culture, and historical development of Laos. One notable exhibit is a map displaying the areas affected by bombing during the war, which covers a significant portion of the country. Although the amount of exhibits and information may be relatively limited, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Laos' culture and history through these displays. Across from the National Museum is the grand and imposing National Cultural Palace, which was constructed with the assistance of China. Various cultural activities, including performances such as dances and songs, take place inside the palace. Address Opposite the National Culture Hall
