Introduction
The Phousi Mountain is located in the center of Luang Prabang, and it is the highest point in the city. Although the mountain is not very large, you can reach the summit by climbing 328 steps and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire ancient city. At the top of the mountain, you can also visit the golden Phousi Stupa and the Royal Palace at the foot of the mountain. It is recommended to visit during the day to admire the beautiful peaked-roof buildings and unique tropical atmosphere of the ancient city. For a stunning sunset view, you can climb up to the temples on the mountain in the evening. The That Chomsi Stupa at the highest point serves as the starting point for the Lao New Year parade, and behind the stupa is a small cave shrine. From the summit, you can also overlook the beautiful Mekong River and Nam Khan River. While there are several paths up and down the mountain, the Phousi Mountain scenic area only has two entrances: the front entrance facing the Royal Palace Museum, and the back entrance. Along the way, you can also see some newly built Buddha statues. The architecture and local customs of Luang Prabang are naturally charming, making it a truly enchanting place.
