Introduction

Banteay Prei and Prei temples are both Buddhist temples, located northeast of Banteay Srei temple, and were built during the late 12th to early 13th century under the reign of Jayavarman VII. The temples are surrounded by forests and have few visitors. The outer walls and remnants of moat of the temple can still be seen today, giving a glimpse of the grand scale of the temple in its prime. While the central gate has collapsed, the fairy reliefs are well-preserved. Upon entering, you will find a central courtyard that is relatively well-preserved, with two towering trees in the center being particularly prominent. Although some towers and the central tower have partially collapsed, the reliefs are still exquisite.
