Introduction
Banteay Srei, located about 32 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap, is a precious gem of Angkor art. Built with distinctive red clay and pinkish sandstone, its vibrant colors and durable materials make it stand out. This small-scale royal temple is famous for its intricate and delicate carvings, with smooth and graceful lines. It boasts the best stone carvings in the world, covering every inch of its surface. The impressive craftsmanship and luxurious library within the temple leave visitors in awe. Unlike other Angkor monuments, Banteay Srei was built by a Brahmin, not a king. Many statues and reliefs depict spectacular mythical scenes, including a female figure holding a lotus flower dressed in intricate traditional robes. The interior walls are adorned with exquisite bas-reliefs, making it a masterpiece of artistry. While the exact date of construction is disputed, it is undoubtedly one of the most precious cultural heritages of Angkor. Address Queen's Palace inside Angkor Wat
