Introduction

Pyeonghwa Bridge is a large bridge located in Longshan, Seoul, South Korea. It connects the West Ice Storage Cave in Han River. The construction of the bridge began in January 1980 and officially started on June 25, 1982. It is the first bridge in South Korea that has both upper and lower levels, with the lower level serving as a submerged bridge. The total length of Pyeonghwa Bridge is 1,490 meters and it is 25 meters wide. It is currently managed by the Han River Administration Headquarters of Seoul Metropolitan City. In December 2008, the bridge underwent an expansion project, widening the bridge deck and installing a series of water jets on both sides, making it the Guinness World Records holder for the longest water jet bridge in the world.
