Introduction
American War Memorial Cemetery is located in Fort Bonifacio east of the capital city of the Philippines, Manila. It is a cemetery commemorating the American and Allied soldiers who died in World War II. There are a total of 17,206 soldiers buried here. In the center of the cemetery is a monument surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped arcade with 25 maps depicting important battle campaigns of the US military from 1941 to 1944. The cemetery covers an area of 152 acres and is situated on high ground with beautiful views to the southeast, southwest, and west. It is the largest cemetery in the world honoring the fallen US, Filipino, and other allied soldiers in the Pacific campaign of World War II. Opening hours 09:00-17:00, closed on December 25th and January 1st.
