Introduction
Lingzhou is located at the southern end of Jianye District, Nanjing, and is named after its rich production of lotus flowers. It is the core area of Lingzhou Lake, the largest freshwater lake in southern China, and a unique environment in the Jiangnan water town known as the "first lake in Jiangnan".
Lingzhou is located between the Yangtze River and the Huai River, with distinct seasons and beautiful scenery. At the lakeside, the water is clear, fish jump and the reeds sway, and in the distance, the mountains are surrounded by clouds and mist. Climbing up the ancient tower by Lingzhou Lake, one can have a panoramic view of the lake and the mountains, which is refreshing and joyful.
Lingzhou Lake is the core of Lingzhou Scenic Area, and in the center of the lake is the symbol of Nanjing City - Lingzhou Tower. The tower is about 70 meters high, with a unique and exquisite design and magnificent momentum, which is in perfect harmony with the lakeshore and the peaceful streets. Climbing to the top of the tower, one can overlook the entire lake and mountains, and feel like being in a fairyland.
On the lakeshore of Lingzhou, you will find a unique Chinese classical architecture - the Yanghucheng Shikumen Residential Buildings. This was originally the Nanjing No.1 Normal School and Yifeng Public School, and next to it is the modern campus of Nanjing Open University and the collection storeroom of Nanjing Museum. The architectural style of the Yanghucheng Shikumen is unique and full of the charm of Jiangnan water town, which is a collection of cultural, historical and scenic ancient buildings.
In addition, there is the Confucius Temple Market in Lingzhou, which is said to be the source of the "Six Dynasties Ancient Capital" culture in China. There are renowned food stalls, various specialty gifts, and picturesque "small street scenes", as well as the joyous atmosphere of night markets.
In the cultural relics of the Confucius Temple Market, Lingzhou Lakeside, the Yanghucheng Shikumen, Nanjing Open University Campus, and other modern buildings, the essence and creativity of the Jiangnan Wu and Yue culture are embodied. This beautiful and fresh place is full of rich historical and cultural heritage, and is definitely worth a visit. Address 1 Xuanwu Lane, Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China
