Introduction

The building used to be the luxurious residence of the Xu family in Dongshan, also known as the Baihua Hall, famous for its exquisite wood carvings. It perfectly showcases the traditional art of wood carving, featuring figures, birds, and animals on the door frames and window panels using various carving techniques such as round carving, relief carving, through carving, and openwork carving. Today, the main area of the building displays many fine antique Chinese wood carving artifacts.
