Introduction

Changshu, located in the eastern part of Jiangsu Province, is adjacent to Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Nantong. It boasts beautiful mountains and rivers, abundant resources, developed culture, and outstanding talent, and is also one of China's historical and cultural cities. Changshu Museum is located at the eastern foot of Mount Yu, adjacent to the tombs of Zhong Yong and Yan Zi. Covering an area of 9,100 square meters, it includes eight exhibition halls, a cultural relics warehouse, offices, and auxiliary rooms. The museum officially opened to the public on September 28, 1997, and became a national second-class museum in 2009. It has a collection of more than 16,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, mainly consisting of calligraphy and painting, ceramics, and jade, among which 21 are designated as national first-class cultural relics and 261 are second-class cultural relics. It has the highest number and level of collections among domestic museums of the same level. The calligraphy and painting, jade, and celadon in Changshu Museum's collection have been selected for various cultural relic catalogues, such as "Catalogue of Ancient Chinese Calligraphy and Painting", "Jades of Liangzhu Culture", "Art of the Six Dynasties", etc. The museum has also published several albums such as "Selected Collection of Law Books in Changshu Museum", "Collection of Seals in Changshu Museum", "Collection of Porcelain in Changshu Museum", "Collection of Jade in Changshu Museum", and "Yu Mountain's Collection of Calligraphy and Painting Throughout the Dynasties".
