Introduction
The China Imperial Examination Museum is located in the expanded site of the Jiangnan Gongyuan, which was one of the main buildings in the Confucius Temple area and also the largest Imperial Examination site in China. During its heyday, the Jiangnan Gongyuan had about 20,644 rooms in the examination rooms alone, and there were hundreds more in the official offices, kitchens, storerooms, and barracks. Its scale and area ranked first among all the provincial examination halls in the country, making it the largest Imperial Examination site in ancient China. The museum includes three areas: the main exhibition hall, the south garden of the Jiangnan Gongyuan, and the ruins of the Mingyuan Building, with the main hall being the core area for showcasing and experiencing Imperial Examination culture. Visiting this museum is like embarking on a treasure hunt, as the sealed treasure box is buried deep underground, and visitors gradually distance themselves from the hustle and bustle, wash away their anxiety, and begin to experience the hardships of the journey during the Imperial Examination.
