Introduction

Lanzhou University was founded in 1909 and is a national key comprehensive university. Its predecessor was the Gansu Law and Political School, established during the New Policy period of the late Qing Dynasty. It was the beginning of modern higher education in Gansu and a pioneer of higher education in the northwest.
