Introduction

Chen Huacheng led his troops to repel the invasion of the British fleet at the Wusong Battery. In June 1842, the British attacked Wusong Mouth, but Chen Huacheng fought back fiercely from the battery and hit several enemy ships. Although he eventually sacrificed his life due to insufficient troops, his brave deeds are forever remembered by future generations. The Wusong Ancient Battery has now become a major attraction in Qingpu District. Although it has been renovated, it still retains its basic appearance, showcasing its majestic momentum.
