Introduction
Mount Xi, formerly known as Fan Mountain, is named after its location in the ancient capital of Wu - now the city of Ezhou in Hubei province. Mount Xi is located on the southern bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, only 68 kilometers away from Wuhan city. The mountain is covered with lush green trees and flowing springs, and the temperature is 2 to 3 degrees lower than the city center. It faces Chibi in Huangzhou to the northwest, borders the Yanglan Lake to the south, and is adjacent to the bustling urban area to the east, with the Fan River stretching to the west. The main peak of Mount Xi reaches 170 meters, with nine peaks and six valleys, waterfalls, and dense forests, creating a beautiful natural landscape. The mountain is renowned for its excellent water quality of the Bodhisattva Spring and delicious Dongpo cakes. Mount Xi has a long history with numerous scenic spots and historical sites. It bears witness to numerous historical and cultural relics, such as the summer palace of Wu King, Wuchang Tower, and the ancient Lingquan Temple, among more than 20 scenic spots, which are worthy of admiration. Mount Xi also has an enduring legend of historical figures such as Sun Quan, the eminent monk Huiyuan, and Yue Fei, adding a brilliant chapter to the treasure trove of Chinese literature and art. It is also a land of historical and cultural significance, leaving footprints of brave generals like General He Long and General Peng Chufan.
