Introduction

Ming Dynasty residential architectural complex - Taining Shangshu Mansion, commonly known as "Wufu Hall", is located in Fufang Lane, Shengli Second Street, Taining County. The building complex was the residence of Li Chunye, a Shangshu of the Ministry of Military Affairs in the Jingying Government, who was also a Taishi and Taishi Additive Protector during the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty. It was built from the third to seventh year of Tianqi (1623-1627). The mansion faces east and covers an area of over 5220 square meters, with a length of 87 meters and a width of 60 meters. There are two gates in the front corridor of the courtyard, one north and one south. The north gate leads to the ceremonial hall and reception room. The entire building complex has five gate towers, all of which have stone plaques embedded in them. Starting from the south, they respectively engrave the words "Shangshu Mansion", "Zhu Guo Additive Protector", "Fourth Grade Prince", "Li Gate", "Yi Road", "Dragging the Shoes of Stars and Moon", "Following the Radiance of the Sun and Moon", "Capital Advisers", and so on. The lintels and pillars of the gate towers are intricately carved with various exquisite patterns. A pair of drum-shaped stones, 2 meters high and 0.92 meters wide, carved with double lions, play with balls, dragons, and flowers, are located on the stone steps. The base of the pier walls features beautiful patterns such as Lotus Pond Pedestals, Lotus Skirt Seats, and Bamboo Joint-Lined Pillars. Address Shangshu Street, Taining County, Fujian Province
