Introduction

Taohuajian Scenic Area is located 10 kilometers north of Yong'an City, next to National Highway 205, covering an area of 37 square kilometers. It is named after the Taohuajian canyon in the area. The poet Li Gang of the Song Dynasty once referred to the water and rocks here as "Xiao Wuyi", hence it is also known as "Xiao Wuyi". During the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, the area had already become a popular tourist destination with more than 10 pavilions and towers built. In 1987, Taohuajian Scenic Area and Linyin Stone Forest were awarded as the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots, and then honored again as the third batch of national key scenic spots in 1994.
