Introduction

Located about 10 kilometers west of Lijiang city, the natural reserve of Lashi Lake is the largest plateau lake in Lijiang, and also the first protected area in Yunnan province named after "wetland". Every year, about tens of thousands of waterfowl come here to spend the winter. The best bird watching season is from December to February. The lake is surrounded by Naxi villages, each of which has a horse farm, making it a great place in Lijiang for horse riding, boating, and bird watching.

Transportation

One can hire a car to go to Lijiang Ancient Town (there is a possibility of being overcharged by the driver, as most drivers will also earn horse-riding fees. A van can accommodate up to 7 people with a price of around 70 yuan. Nowadays, most drivers charge 10 yuan round trip per person). Alternatively, one can also rent a bicycle to get there.
