Introduction

De'anli Manor is a complex of buildings located in Dongnan district of Hongyang town, Puning City, Guangdong Province. It was the national residence of Fang Yao, the Admiral of Guangdong during the Qing Dynasty. The complex was built in 1871 during the 10th year of the Qing dynasty's Tongzhi reign and took 20 years to complete. It consists of three parts: "Old Manor", "Middle Manor", and "New De'anli". The architectural style of the Old Manor is called "Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix", while the Middle Manor and New De'anli form the shape of "Four Horses Pulling a Carriage", with a total of 773 rooms connecting the three parts. The complex is surrounded by a protective moat and covers an area of 63,000 square meters, with a building area of approximately 32,000 square meters. It is a rare large-scale manor-style architectural complex in Guangdong Province.
